ALERTSM
Outcomes
Management System
The ALERTSM
Outcomes Management System is the product of a collaboration between PacifiCare
Behavioral Health, Inc. (PBHI) and the Center for Clinical Informatics.
The system was first placed into use in 1999.
The system
has evolved over time based on feedback from users and information gleamed
from the data. The outcomes management project has been
expanded to encompass PBHI's entire system of care. The
ALERTSM data repository is probably the largest database on
behavioral health outcomes in the world, with over 5000 clinicians submitting data on a regular basis.
In early 2003 to total number of cases in the data repository exceeded
100,000.
Center
continues to work with PBHI to refine this system to make it ever more
responsive to the needs of the consumers, providers and managers of care. The
ALERT Annual Reports provide evidence of the impact of the system on quality and
outcomes of care.
