In 1999 PacifiCare
Behavioral Health, Inc. entered into a collaboration with the Center to develop the ALERTSM
Outcomes Management System. This
system is used to measure and manage outcomes for PBHI's entire system of
behavioral healthcare providers serving over 4,000,000 covered lives. The Center
continues to provide PBHI will a full range
of clinical
informatics services including data analysis, research, system development, and
performance benchmarking. The Center also produces PBHI's annual ALERT Outcomes
Report. (2001;
2002;
2003).
Resources
for Living, Inc (RFL) provides a variety of employee assistance and
consultation services, including telephonic counseling services. The
organization is results oriented and made a commitment to measure and improve
outcomes for their counseling services. Since 2002 they have assessed the
client's level of subjective distress and the therapeutic alliance at every
session using brief outcome and process measures developed by the
Institute of the Study of Therapeutic Change. (www.talkingcure.com)
RFL contracts with the Center to provide ongoing data analytic and
consulting services as part of their commitment to improve outcomes. RFL
counselors have seen their outcomes improve significantly since the start of the

In 2000 the Center was asked by the Joint Legislative Audit and Review
Committee of the Washington State Legislature to assist in a performance audit
of the state's mental health services and to make recommendations regarding
performance and outcomes management methods. More

The Center
conducted a study for the Midwest
Center for Stress and Anxiety to evaluate the effective of their self
help program for anxiety and depression. The Center used used outcome benchmarking to compare
results for this program to "treatment as usual". View
report. CCI is presently assisting in a study to evaluate the effectiveness
of their telephonic coaching services for individuals using their self help
program. Other
clients include clinics, community mental health centers, employee assistance
